The dawn of the 2014 Selangor
Floorball League (SFL) is right around the corner for the six (6) participating
teams. With the official kick-start set to take place this weekend, the fifth
inception of the SFL has undoubtedly all the potential to be one of the most
fascinating floorball leagues in the association's history.
Here're three reasons why:
1. The league is condensed into
just, one month (full schedule)
- The structure of a short schedule is definitely expected to keep all participants on their toes. Week in week out they would need to be physically fit, strident on the court, precise in their tactics and most of all, being able to retain the passion and endurance of the team.
2. Each team will only face each
other once (That's why the league only lasts a month)
- This makes every point count, every goal crucial, and every defeat unacceptable. The mounting pressure might prove overwhelming for teams with high expectations, and it would be interesting to watch how they keep their act together as individuals, and as a team.
3. Stringent rules deployed over the past few weeks by the SFL organizing committee will require teams to escalate
their discipline and commitment. Some notable ones include:
- Teams are required to register a 23-man squad for the league
- Teams need to have a minimum of 9 players (including a fully-equipped goalie) on the court upon the commencement of the game
- Revocation of ability to reschedule game times gratis. Penalty varies accordingly should organizing committee be informed before 78 hours or within 78 hours of the scheduled game
What’re your thoughts? Would it be
a balanced mouth-watering season to look forward to?
