SFL 2010/2011 Match Day 14 Preview 23th April 2011

Match Day 14 will be played on Saturday the 23rd of April 2011 at the Rakan Muda Complex in Puchong. Match Day 14 also marks the closing of Selangor Floorball League 2010/2011.

Sat, 23rd April 2011

Game 1 – KLIUC Griffin vs. Gracebandy!Co.

(12.00pm – 2.00pm)

Referees: Amai & Suresh

Prediction:

Griffins to finally get their first win of the season with a spirited match against a fading Gracebandy!Co.

Game 2- GMI White Knights vs. Subang Rascals

(2.00pm - 4.00pm)

Referees: Phillip & Faz

Prediction:

Subang Rascals to end the season with probably their best match of the season while breaking the 200 goals a season mark, and probably a little too much for the spirited White Knights to handle.

Game 3- Bangi Rusty Blade vs. Salibandy!Co.

(4.00pm - 6.00pm)

Referees: Sjaiful & Arizal

Prediction:

Bangi Rusty Blade to put pressure on Hornets by winning this one and not allowing Hornets an easy path to claim the Third placing. I however feel that Salibandy!Co. will give them a tough fight for the win.

Game 3 – KLIUC Hornets vs. Gang Bintang

(4.00pm – 6.00pm)

Referees: Naufal & Alvin

Prediction:

Gang Bintang to win this but it will not be as simple, looking at the first round match when the game was full of fireworks as Hornets lead the 2011 Champions only to be beaten in the last period. Expect the season to end with brutal display of floorball at its best!

The SFA wishes every team good luck and may fair play triumph! The SFA also would like to remind each and every team that games will start at the time stated and breaks will be limited. This is to facilitate the prize giving ceremony to end the SFA 2010/2011.

Bangi Rusty Blade proved to be too strong for GMI White Knights as they comfortably won the game with a 10 - 1 scoreline.

With Jun Wooi back in the defensive line, it was seen that the Green Army's offensive plays were well-supported by the defence. Also the likes of Malik, Hafidz and Faz were on their form for this match, it was without a doubt that Bangi Rusty Blade had yet again clinched another victory to keep up in the title race.

GMI White Knights, on the other hand, did not play rather well as their coach, Hafidz was playing for the opposing team. Without the guidance of their coach, it was seen that they were rather unorganized but played well despite their forwards were out of target throughout the match.

In the end, Bangi Rusty Blade went on to another comfortable victory.

Gang Bintang welcomed Khalid back into the starting line-up as he notched an astounding 11 points (9+2) in this game to set a high standard in both the league table and the scoring leaderboard. Gang Bintang had a rather shaky defence in this game but managed to hit back at the Gracebandy!Co. defence in their counterattacks.

Gracebandy!Co. managed to pull the goal margin closer in a few occasions but could not keep up with the Gang Bintang players' fast-pace attacking floorball. Edmond Wong, the Gracebandy!Co. keeper pulled off a couple of big saves to prevent the champions from extending the lead. Andrian was a big influencer as he was featured in most Gracebandy!Co. attacking plays.

KLIUC Griffin has been improving week after week and this was yet another encouraging performance from the minnows. Aditiya has been superb in every game; stopping any shots and preventing them from going into the back of the net. While Muhammad has been scoring consistently for Griffin. They came close to a draw during the last game against GMI, but this time they faced a much better KLIUC side.

KLIUC Hornets, on the other hand, have their in-form forward, Azim who has been scoring for the team in almost every game. Besides, their captain, Muizzudin has also been scoring consistently in every game.

Game 4: Salibandy!Co. 2 - 15 Subang Rascals

Salibandy!Co. failed to keep up in the title race once again as they were beaten badly by the mighty Subang Rascals.

Salibandy!Co. was in their full squad once again but Rascals proved to be too strong for them. Terence of Salibandy!Co. has been helping the team scoring goals and thus being watched tightly by the Rascals' defence. However, he managed to steal two goals from Subang Rascals and giving the team the consolation goals.

Subang Rascals sent a much-depleted squad and brought in their 3rd goalkeeper for this match. Subang Rascals' skipper, Sjaiful Anuar was in the best form of the season as he once again inspired the team into victory. Another player to be noted was Arizal as he notched his first hat trick for Rascals.

Terence of Salibandy!Co. was on the best form in the game as he scored a hat trick to help Salibandy!Co. clinching this win. However, some shaky defence by Salibandy!Co. has allowed KLIUC Hornets to come close to equalizing but it just was not enough to draw the match level.

Muiz and Taqi played promising role for Hornets as they kept persevering to clinch the valuable two points. But Hornets’ players have to be much organized in their attacking and defensive plays. Nevertheless, it was a great display by both clubs. But Salibandy!Co. was the better side of the game.

Subang Rascals cruised to their 5th win of the season after edging Salibandy!Co. easily with an 18-3 scoreline. It proved to be a great recovery after they have suffered their first loss to Gang Bintang. Salibandy!Co. on the other hand, despite their first win against KLIUC Griffins two weeks ago, seems to be out of control over their defence as they were punished hard by many Rascals offensive runs.

1st period:

Rascals without several key players, they started the game with just 8 players but they welcomed Carlos back into the line-up. And Carlos, missed the game against Gang Bintang, was on his top form in this game, scored a hat trick in just 10 minutes with the two tremendous strikes in the 6th minute and the third in the 10th minute; credits also to Dennis as he assisted Carlos’ first goal.

It was not long till spectators saw the first goal as Vicky scored a goal following a defensive error by
Salibandy!Co. players. Snake grabbed his first goal of the season as he netted in Rascals’ 6th of the game following an impressive pass by Dennis.

Dennis, who is chasing the players’ list leader, Khalid of Gang Bintang, has made taking over the leadership board as his main objective in this game. As a result, he netted 5 impressive goals in this period and making him the new leader of the leadership board at that point of time.

Connor has been a helping hand in assisting his teammates this period as he assisted both Dennis and Carlos’ goals. Snake and Vicky were the other two who assisted both Dennis’ goals in the 13th and 16th minute.

But, Connor was given a two-minute bench penalty for allegedly hitting the opponent’s stick incorrectly
(code 201).

As the period ended and went into the intermission,
Salibandy!Co. skipper, Ricky Tong must really plan something well in order to stop Rascals from firing more goals and get his team back into the game.

*Subang Rascals 12-0 Salibandy!Co.*

3rd period:

Salibandy!Co. trailed
Rascals 12 goals as they entered the 3rd period. The match has been rather intensive in the 3rd period. With both sides played very well.

But it was the visitors who drew the crowd into attention as Daniel Phang managed to score following a great pass by Alvin L. and showing some signs of a comeback from Salibandy!Co.

However, there were many unprofessional fouls in this period as 4 players from
Salibandy!Co. were given two-minutes bench penalty for committing an offence of incorrect hit.
